Black And Grey
Black And Grey was founded in in 1991 in South Boston Massachusetts. The band consisted of Jonny Rely, Dan Shaw, Matt Sandonato and Joe “The Hammer” Tobias. Despite a reputation for exceptional song writing and mesmerizing live performances, Black And Grey remained on the fringes of the Boston music scene. In the mid to late nineties the line up would undergo several periods of change; Singer/Songwriter Jonny Rely remained a constant releasing the albums “The Criminal Years”, featuring original members of the band as well as additional members, and more recently “When God Comes For Your Soul” which Rely wrote and recorded with producer David Minihan and his partner Dave Westner.
After some years had passed the original line up reunited for Matty’s 50th birthday. The band decided to give it a go though it would take a few years until they were ready. “No way I was going out there looking and sounding like a bunch of old geezers getting the band back together for nostalgia sake.” said Rely. He added, “I wouldn’t book shows until we exceeded our previous level and made a commitment to writing new material” One day at practice everything suddenly clicked and the band sounded like Black And Grey again.
The band is now actively playing again and the response has been nothing short of phenomenal. They sound better than ever and are writing, recording and releasing singles. Several music videos are also being filmed. Their music is available on all major streaming platforms as well as littleguyrecords.com The band is also seeking new management which shares their vision of bringing honest, genuine rock and roll music to a new generation starving for real music.
